OpenFlume is an open-source, low-cost, modular benchtop laboratory flume that is designed to be accessible and reproducible. The flume is assembled from widely available materials and hardware, and fabricated exclusively using tools and machinery commonly found in woodworking shops and digital fabrication maker spaces. It is capable of producing a uniform flow in the 5x5cm open channel over a wide range of flow velocities that have been characterized using several experimental methods.
