This budget-friendly project allows students to quickly learn PCB making & soldering while making something more elaborate than just a battery with an LED. Designed for simplicity & robustness, it features beginner-friendly TH components & a robust 8-bit microcontroller (now using the STC8 chip due to 2021 Microchip PIC shortages). We've put this design through the wringer—surviving various student mishaps (short-circuiting & incorrect IC orientation), all components remains alive after fixes.
