This budget-friendly project allows students to quickly learn PCB making/etching & soldering while making something more elaborate than just a battery with an LED. Designed for simplicity and robustness, it features beginner-friendly through-hole components and a robust 8-bit Microchip PIC microcontroller. We've put this design through the wringer, with various student mishaps like short-circuiting & incorrect IC orientation, all components remained alive after fixing soldering & PCB mistakes.
